Marquette University - College of Engineering
Built for Durability:

The Opus Group consistently has delivered new and existing construction projects for Marquette University, and when the opportunity to work with them to deliver on a high profile, construction related project presented itself, D&B Industrial Floor Coatings was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity. Daily, future engineers and construction professionals in training will walk the halls of this project.

Knowing that a project will be this high profile, in your own industry, for a long time, is an excellent challenge. Dale, Louie, Steve, CJ and their team worked diligently to produce a finish that we could all be proud of. Polished concrete along with other densified slabs run throughout the facility on most every floor. From the main hallway, stair treads, and corridors, there is extensive polished and dyed slab. Finished with a final stain protectant, the slab is resistant to daily splash and spill without the need for waxing. All products used contributed to LEED points, including the use of recycled and reclaimed diamond pads for the polishing process.

Challenges for this project included: Size and scope, cooperation and access with hundreds of workers and trades, straight lines for the thousands of linear feet of decorative cutting and caulking, masking of finished surfaces and absorbent materials at columns which were exposed, multi-phased operation, varied FF/FL numbers.

D&B Industrial was extremely proud to have been a part of this project and look forward to the engineering and construction professionals of the future hanging out on one of our floors for many years to come.
